Hip hop lesson 1

The american mc J-Ro and former member of Tha Alkoholics just taught me that Bronx, the borough in New York where hip hop was born, is named after a Swedish dude called Jonas Bronck!

Bronck’s land became Bronx.

It’s cool to see that J-Ro himself seems to enjoy living in Malmö, south of Sweden, a lot! Not that fantastic I thought of my home country and left, now planning a trip to...NY this spring!!!!

Word up for J-Ro's knowledge and his music!!
That's all for today!!

I found hip hop were I least expected it!

A couple of days ago I was working at a x-mas party in a reeeeally nice flat in Selva de Mar, owned by the boss of a successful company. A Swedish man around 40 years old, who had invited all the people at work to enjoy some Swedish Christmas food and drinks.

It started with some classic x-mas music during dinner and with the party came the party music. The around 35 guests in an age of 35-55, were digging to HIP HOP music!! First some John Legend and after a while the ladies were dancing to songs like Lean Back (Fat Joe) and Gold digger (Kanye West), and me working in the kitchen, chocked and impressed at the same time!!!! There was even a dancehall song (!)..Oh shiiiit, this man really got GOOD taste in music!!

That’s me in 10 years!!

Lucia house party

The Swedish tradition Lucia (13th of Dec) was celebrated last week, we threw a house party with sweet Swedish delicacies like homemade glögg (mulled warm wine), lussebullar (buns with saffron) and pepparkakor (gingerbread) with glaze. Mmm..

It started out as a Christmas party with classics song, but the music soon swapped into a more party-friendly hiphopish tunes. With “open-dj” at the turntables and more than one dj at the party, anyone had the opportunity to show off his (or her!) skills.

The recipe for a good party is good friends, music, consumption and snacks and this nice fiesta was wound up at Harlem Jazzclub, with pleasant company and music!

Before, we had briefly posted out our “flyer” for the party, made with a twinkle in our eyes. And I’m still living high that I was mistaken for being the Lucia in the picture, notice that it was the Swedish princess Madeleine Bernadotte!!!

Sara

Muchas gracias chicos!

Hello, que pasa!

Better late then never... Christmas time has come, things have cooled down a bt after the latest event and we finally have some time off from school to do our own stuff.
We just wanted to give a big shout out to the Flipster and Richie for the wonderful days we had with you. Your show was amazing, the energy was everywhere and you'll have to search under rocks to find better people to work with.

Dj Flip and Richie Filth; We miss you!! You will always be welcome back to the house of guzzes.

Me and Sarita have been in the kitchen for 5 hours straight, preparing the christmas dinner tomorrow. I've decorated my 50 cm tall tree that changes colour every 5 second, all colours represented! The house smells of Saritas delicious lussebullar and we are ready to kick shit off with our Aladdin chocolate box.
We bought so much food that I doubt that we'll leave the house before friday.

You wish you would be here but unfortunately the only one invited is Santa Claus, I hope he'll be able to make it....

Hasta luego y bona nit!
